The Grand Theft Auto series had humble beginnings, but nowadays it’s consistently the highest grossing
video games of their time! It’s interesting to see their transition into what
they are today, and a personal favorite, is Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. But
how good is it?
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas was initially released
for the PS2 and Original Xbox. Taking place in the new locale of San Andreas, a
re imagining of California. The game took a big turn creating the largest open
world in the series, even compared to Grand Theft Auto 5! For an Original Xbox game, this world is
staggering to believe, with 3 fully fleshed out cities, and country roads,
deserts, mountains, and more in between, it’s almost like you’re exploring a
small state!
The graphics definitely do not hold up, but to me, a game review should be more focused on how fun it is to play. You play as CJ Hinds, a gang member in Los Santos (Similar to Los Angeles), the game explores his trials with other gang members, and back stabbers. It feels very real for what most consider a very “immature” game. The cops play a large role in the game’s story, so being put in a gang setting makes the cops feel more integral to your progression through the game.

You
have full control over CJ’s appearance, and doing certain actions can increase
his stats, very similar to a simple RPG. The story is long, and fulfilling, I highly recommend, even today!
Do you think GTA is too graphic of a game?
